Cooking Questions - Answers Revealed! 

The Girl has been trying to make this pasta with gorgonzola recipe that she got somewhere, probably Cooking Light. She made it once and it was pretty good, but then she had difficulty finding the right ingredients and began making substitutions, without much success. Right now she's off at the grocery store (she shops while I study, but my contribution is to clean out the fridge and help carry in the bags from the car), and called me from the cellphone with the following question: What's the difference between condensed and evaporated milk?

Being the geek that I am, I turned to my Google toolbar and typed "condensed evaporated milk" in the search box. The first two results pointed me to Ochef, with the results headed "What are condensed and evaporated milk?" and "Difference between sweetened condensed milk and evaporated?" I clicked away and got a simple yet complete answer. Bottom line - don't substitute one for the other. You'll be very disappointed.

The site in general is very cool, with answers to all sorts of cooking questions plus an easy to find spot for submitting your own questions. You can access the information through search, or through categories such as Dairy & Eggs, Science, Ingredients, Holidays, Entertaining, Ethnic/World and Recipes, plus many others.
